Happy December my fellow Legionnaires, and welcome to the fifth edition of the Pioneer. I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. I hope this holiday edition finds you doing well and that you are finding time to be with friends and family and are able to reflect on one of the greatest gifts every given. The gift of Freedom that we share here in the United States. The founding fathers set a high standard of ideals for the new nation to live up to back in 1776. But from the very beginning, debate about the best way to do that has been an inherent part of the American experiment. Since its founding, the United States has had both high and low moments on its road to ensuring freedom and equality for its citizens. Even now as we seem to be a country divided on my issues, we can all agree, it is thanks to those who have worn the cloth of our nation that we can have these discussions and disagreements. As a reminder, please make a final push on the Oratorical Contest and the 5th Grade Essays, and please turn in membership as soon as possible. Thank you for all you have done for our country. God Bless each and every one of you. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy and safe New Year!
For God and Country,
Brett
